Detectives from DCI have on Thursday morning fatally injured seven occupants of a vehicle.
The vehicle of number plate KCB 583L was stopped by Special Service unit detectives at Isinya when they spotted occupants who looked suspicious.
“Early this morning, detectives drawn from the Special Service Unit operating within Isinya spotted a motor vehicle registration number KCB 583L with suspicious individuals on board.”
They refused to stop and even opened fire at the police before a fierce gun battle ensued.
“The driver of the vehicle was challenged to stop but he defied and instead the other occupants fired at the detectives prompting a fierce exchange of fire.”

All the seven occupants were injured at the process as police recovered an AP jacket, Ak-47 rifle with 3 rounds of ammunition.
Also recovered was a pocket phone, seven mobile phones, and assorted crude weapons.
“The detectives managed to fatally injure all the 7 occupants and upon searching the vehicle, one Ak 47 Rifle loaded with 3 rounds of ammunition, a Pocket phone, two APS Kenya jungle jackets, a beret, 7 mobile phones & assorted crude weapons were recovered.
Several Identification cards not believed to belong to the suspects were also recovered. “
According to the DCI, the suspects were part of robbers linked to several cases in Nairobi, Mlolongo, Kitengela and Isinya.
“The suspects are linked to a series of robberies that have been happening in Nairobi, Mlolongo, kitengela and Isinya.”
