Sex for grades: University of Lagos suspends lecturer(video)

The University of Lagos has suspended its senior lecturer following a revelation by BBC dubbed sex for grades.

The lecturer who is also as pastor was caught on tape sexually harassing an undercover reporter playing the role of a student.

The sex for grades documentary followed allegation by students from Nigeria and Ghana who said the activities by lecturers have gone unpunished even when reported.

Boniface Igbeneghu was heard threatening the reporter of severe consequences if she dared fail to report to his office when called.

He further revealed a special place within the University of Lagos premise where lecturers sexual exploit the students.

The undercover reporter was locked inside the room as Dr. Igbeneghu requested for a kiss.

Speaking after the expose, the University said it was against sexual relationships between lecturers and students and was also against sexual exploitation.

They, however, did not comment on the cold room as mentioned in the footage.

In addition to that, the church where the professor is attached to has distanced itself from the allegations.
