Silverstone Air plane has on Friday morning crashed shortly after taking off at Wilson Airport.
The plane is said to have skidded off the runway as it was departing to Lamu from Nairobi at 9 am.

At the time of the accident, the Silverstone Airplane had passengers and crew on board but was safely rescued.
Investigations are currently underway to establish the cause of the crash.
Currently, the airline operates six counties in Kenya including Nairobi, Mombasa, Lamu, Ukunda, Kisumu and Lodwar.
A statement from the company confirmed the accident and destination of the plane.

“We can confirm that our Fokker 50, 5Y-IZO has had an incident while taking off at Wilson Airport at 09:00 am this morning. he aircraft was operating the Wilson – Mombasa – Lamu- Mombasa — Wilson route.”
They also confirmed the safety of the passengers as they thanked emergency services for their prompt response.
