Simba Coach rams into a stationary lorry injuring 14

At least 14 people are reported to have sustained injuries when a bus belonging to Simba Coach was involved in an accident at Awasi area, Kisumu County.

The Monday night accident is said to have occurred when the bus rammed into a stationary lorry.

The driver of the bus is reported to have sustained serious injuries of the leg before he was taken in for treatment.

Red Cross personnel responded to the accident rushing the injured to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referal Hospital for treatment.

Some passengers escaped unhurt and are reported to have boarded alternative mean of transport to complete their journey.

The bus was heading to Kampala from Mombasa before the accident occurred at the busy Kisumu-Nairobi highway.

A huge traffic snarl-up was witnessed after the accident paralyzing the transport system.
