Six arrested as police nab concealed Miraa at JKIA

Police have arrested six people in connection to concealed Miraa found at JKIA Airway cargo section.

According to DCI, the consignment had been concealed as Fine beans for exports in 150 cartons meant for export.

Security officers had already intercepted the motor vehicle ferrying the goods before they found French beans and egg plants at the top and the Miraa at the bottom.

“Acting on a tip off, Security officers based at JKIA have intercepted a motor vehicle Reg No. KAW 122R at the Airways Cargo Export section where upon inspecting the contents of the 150 cartons that were labeled Fine Beans and Ravaya for export, it was established that the cartons contained French beans and egg plants at the top but had Khat ( Miraa) concealed underneath.

Six suspects namely Ahmed Habib, James Ngure, Duke Mutambo, Raphael Ngotho, Stephen Ngugi and Julius Mulwa have been arrested and will be charged accordingly” Said DCI
