Governor Mike Sonko has openly condemned his counterpart the Machakos County Governor Dr. Alfred Mutua for the alleged closure of business belonging to Kalimbe Ndile.
Addressing Machakos residents outside a police station, Governor Mike Sonko condemned the arrest of employees of the former MP.
He further added that as leaders they should be concerned of the welfare of the ordinary wananchi “wanjiku” who are suffering at their expense.
Governor Sonko thanked the president for allocating around 4 billion to help the youth by establishing business and provide employment.
Upon securing their release, the Nairobi Governor asked the crowd gathered around the police station to proceed peacefully to the court where the arrested will be charged.
Sonko’s sentiments come barely two days after Governor Dr. Alfred Mutua pledged to repair the statues of freedom fighters in Nairobi County.
Governor Mutua blamed Sonko for the current state of the statues saying “I will personally repair and maintain the statues for as long as it takes or those concerned wake up from their slumber.”
The Machakos Governor further added that “This disrepair and neglect is an example of what happens when instead of concentrating on serving Wananchi, leaders are involved in propaganda campaigns and political activities for higher office.
You can wear a suit but if your environment is dirty, you are fake and also dirty. The neglect you see of buildings, airports and parks is indicative of the neglect in the provision of service and quality of work. That is what make us a poor nation.”
