Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has on Sunday penned a touching message to his late mum who passed away 21 years ago.
In an emotional tribute Governor Mike Sonko recounts the year 1997 when her mum passed away as he wishes she was still alive to see God’s blessings in his life.
“This date in 1997 my beloved Mum passed on. It is so painful to lose a mother. Mummy I wish you were alive today to see how God has been faithful to me since you left us. Mum.”said Governor Sonko.

He continues by speaking about his political journey from being a Member of Parliament of Makadara then became the Senator of Nairobi and now the Governor of Nairobi. He openly admits how he still cries thinking of her.
“I ventured into politics and became the MP for Makadara, then became the Senator for Nairobi. Through the grace of God I am, now the Governor of Nairobi. Mum, my tears still flow whenever I think of you. Were it not for you Mum I couldn’t have reached where I am today.” Said Hon. Mike Sonko.
Sonko concludes by expressing how much he misses and loves her “As you continue resting in peace just know that I miss you so, so much. I love you so much mum. God be with you till we meet again.”
