Former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko is now seeking court permission to undergo an urgent hip replacement surgery in South Africa.
In a letter tabled before the court from KNH Dr. Esther Wekesa, the former Governor is reported to be in need of urgent surgery as it may lead to severe arthritis if left untreated.
The letter continues by revealing that they have already contacted one Dr. Robert Van Der Plank who is highly recommended for the procedure.
- Sonko freed on Ksh 300,000 bond by Kiambu Court
- Muthama, Ledama disallowed to see ex-Governor Sonko
- PS Kibicho expected at DCI HQ over Sonko’s chaos claims
Dr. Plank is however unable to travel to Kenya and will therefore attend to the former Governor at Johannesburg, South Africa as revealed through the court documents.
The former Nairobi boss has been unwell following his arrest with the court ordering proper medical attention supervised by government doctors at KNH where he had been admitted.
Two suspects arrested alongside him have already been released unconditionally with the court ruling that they have no case to answer.
