Confirming the incident was KDF Spokesman Colonel Paul Njuguna who said that the soldiers died as they were on a humanitarian assignment.

Since 2015the government announced war on the terror group Al-Shabab that has been terrorizing residents of Lamu as they hide inside the dense Boni forest.

Survivors were confirmed to be receiving treatment following the attack.

Colonel Njuguna thanked locals for their help after the attack.

In the meantime the roads leading to Lamu have remained dangerous grounds with vehicles required to have a police escort to safer areas.

The government has however kept the promise and more deployment is made to protect the country from terror.
