An Eldoret court has approved the police to detain suspected serial killer Evans Wanjala for 21 days pending investigation.
Evans Juma Wanjala was arrested five days for the death of five young girls who she assaulted and defiled between the year 2019 and 2021 in Uasin Gishu County.
“A serial killer who has brutally murdered five young girls after assaulting and defiling them, is currently in our custody. The suspect, Evans Juma Wanjala who procured the heinous murders between December 31, 2019 and June 15, 2021, first defiled his victims before strangling them to death.” Said DCI

Magistrate Naomi Wairimu also approved the police to exhume the body of Grace Njeri one of the victims of Evans Wanjala for further investigation.
According to detectives, the body of Njeri was laid to rest even though some of her body parts were missing. They will gather evidence to build a strong cases against the suspected serial killer.
His arrest saw the suspect give the detectives a step by step account of how he committed the crimes of the five young girls as revealed by DCI.
“In a chilling confession by the killer who took detectives on a re-enactment of how he executed his ghastly missions, he gave a blow-by-blow account of how he took away the lives of Linda Cherono, 13, Mary Elusa, 14, Grace Njeri, 12, Stacy Nabiso, 10 and Lucy Wanjiru, 15, after defiling them.
The pedophile led detectives to the scene of every murder that he had committed, where charred remains of the murdered minors had earlier been recovered. In one such instance, Linda Cherono’s decomposing body was found on June 15, 2021, near Baharini Dam, after she went missing a few days earlier.” Said DCI
