Take your nonsense to hell, says Sonko on Pangani eviction

Governor Mike Sonko has on Wednesday blasted those claiming Pangani evictees did not receive payment to take their “nonsense to hell.”

Juma proceeds to say some of those evicted were never paid and on the other side officials say they were paid but no money was received.

“Dear @MikeSonko, the brutal eviction of residents of Pangani at midnight was unjustifiable. Some of those evicted were never paid. Officials say they were paid but no money reached them. People are now stranded with nowhere to go. Must a demolition be carried out at midnight?” Said Juma G

Posting a picture of one of the residents smiling as she held a cheque, the Nairobi Governor said those who were not paid are the ones who refused to take the money.

He continues by saying that the county will not pay them as he tells them to go to court saying development plans will not be politicized.

“Take your NONSENSE to hell. Those not paid are the ones who refused to take the money, and we are not going to pay them. Let them go to court. We shall not allow development plans to be politicized.” Said Sonko

Capital FM reported that compensation had already been received by the residents before an eviction notice of June 31st was issued.

The construction of the new apartments was in line with President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Big 4 agenda on affordable housing.
