Baringo Senator Gideon Moi has on Friday been crown a Kalenjin elder by Talai elders and handed over the instruments of power.
The news follows a stand off in the beginning of the month when rowdy youth blocked the Senator from visiting a former Talai elder in the area.
Logs and tyres were laid in the road to block Senator Gideon Moi’s entourage from getting access as they blamed him of undermining the Deputy President.

The rowdy youths also questioned as to why he visited the area in total ignorance of local leaders including Nandi Governor Stephen Sang.
Deputy President William Ruto has been blamed before for instigating the youth against fellow rival leaders questioning his quest to vie for presidency.
The allegations were denied by his allies including Senator Kipchumba Murkomen who questioned the intention of Gideon Moi following events during the visit of the Deputy President at his father’s house in Kabarnet.
A political war has since erupted with Rift Valley seeking to have a kingpin who will lead their people just like the late President Moi led them to State House.
