Students from the Technical University of Mombasa protested over insecurity at the institution.

The angry students downed their books and took to the road protesting recent attacks to some of their fellow pupils.

They claimed two days ago two of their fellow students were killed by the gangs before they attacked two more students on Tuesday.

The Technical University of Mombasa which is situated meters away from the Coast General Hospital saw the protesters match to Makupa Police station to air their grievances.

The police station is however reported to have stayed calm to avoid a repeat of the incident at JKUAT where a student was caught on video being harassed by police.

The police officers in the video are reported to have been identified as appropriate action is expected to be taken as per the law.

IG Hillary Mutyambai and CS Fred Matiang’I were against such actions by police as they called for a 24-hour probe into the incident.
