Three arrested in possession of railway materials

Three people have been arrested for vandalizing the meter gauge railway materials in Mtito andei area.

The three were found in possession of cable wires, nuts and rollers and were loading them into a lorry before they were pounced by detectives from the Department of Criminal investigation and Kenya Wildlife Service rangers.

In what seemed to be their usual behavior of stealing the precious commodities, their cat and mouse game came to an end on Thursday night.

Reporting the incident the DCI said “Three people found vandalising the Metre Gauge Railway materials; cable wires,nuts,rollers and loading them into a trailer lorry were yesterday night arrested by a combined team of DCI_Kenya Detectives and kws kenya rangers at the Man Eaters area in Mtito Andei.”

The driver of the lorry was also arrested bringing the number to four and they are namely; Andi Ibrahim (driver of the lorry), Bernard Mwadime, Paul Wambua and Nelson Kenneth. They are set to be arraigned in court once the police take the necessary action.

“The three suspects together with the driver of the said lorry are currently in lawful custody and will be arraigned in court once necessary police action is done. The four are: – Andi Ibrahim~Driver of the Vehicle. Bernard Mwadime Paul Wambua & Nelson Kenneth.” Said the DCI.
