Three officers arrested for whipping and dragging a woman

Three police officers have been arrested by DCI detectives for whipping and dragging a woman in Kuresoi South.

The officers were seen in a video circulated online committing the crime on a woman believed to have stolen from the area OCS David Kiprotich.

“Three Police officers were yesterday arrested by DCI Detectives following the circulation of a video depicting a woman being whipped & dragged on a motorbike in Kuresoi South Sub-County. The suspects are in lawful custody helping with further investigations into the matter.”

Mercy Cherono could be heard pleading with the men who had tied him to the motorcycle as they whipped her.

The video caused an uproar forcing IPOA to launch an investigation in to the matter to determine allgations.

Cherona suffered a number of injuries including a broken leg and soft tissue injuries which are also under the IPOA radar.

Seven people had so far been arrested as at yesterday with the accused claiming the woman was part of three man gang stealing from the Deputy OCS.
