Three Uganda soldiers lynched by a mob

Three Uganda People’s Defense Force (UPDF) soldiers in a custom base near DRC Congo border were killed by a mob.

The three soldiers were attacked in suspicion of robbery with violence, The Saturday incident that happened in Arua District saw the villagers attack the soldiers after a cyclist raised an alarm that they wanted to rob him.

Confirming the bodies were police in Arua but according to West Nile Police spokesperson, Ms Josephine Angusia it’s still not known as to what the soldiers were doing 8 km from the base.

Recovery and arrest

At the crime scene, three guns and 90 rounds of ammunition were recovered and handed over to the police.

Eight people have so far been arrested in relation to the attack. They have been detained in Arua to assist in the investigations.

Sources reveal that the three could have underestimated the mob by handing over their guns before being beaten to death.
