Tottenham scored a late goal through Son Heung to record a well-deserved first-leg win against Premier League opponents Manchester City.
Tottenham overcame the loss of England striker Harry Kane in the second half following a serious ankle injury when he was challenged by Fabian Delph in the second half.
With twelve minutes left to the final 90 minutes Son twisted and turned with the ball before moving it past goalkeeper Ederson.
Tottenham survived a penalty scare when Danny Rose was said to have handled Raheem Sterling’s shot. The penalty was however saved by keeper Hugo Lloris.
Manchester City will now have until April 17th to overturn the first leg defeat and increase their chances to win four trophies this season.
