Trailer plunges into the Indian Ocean at the Likoni crossing

A trailer plunged into the Indian Ocean at the Likoni crossing on Wednesday morning as confirmed by various reports.

The trailer is reported to have lost control as it attempted to board the ferry before sliding into the Ocean as seen from the pictures.

At the rime of the incident, it was loaded with maize coming from Tanzania into Kenya even though it is not yet known how many bags were there.

Fortunately, no injuries have been reported as the incident caused a huge traffic snarl up with the ferry’s attempting to use one side to dock.

The incident comes barely days after a Pollmans tourist bus plunged into the same Ocean as it attempted to board.

Onlookers and divers managed to rescue those on board as they quickly brought the bus to the docks.

In December, a woman aged 33-years died at the Kibarani crossway when the vehicles she was driving plunged into the Ocean.

Winnie Achieng was in the company of his 12-year-old boy who was rescued by those nearby before they were taken to the hospital.
