Tuju out of danger, matatu driver on life support

Raphael Tuju has undergone successful surgery following the morning accident along the Nakuru-Nairobi highway.

According to Kijabe Mission Hospital CEO Dr. Ken Mumo, he can now be airlifted to Nairobi for specialized treatment.

How the accident involving Tuju occured

A report from the police says that the accident occurred when the matatu was overtaking before hitting a stationary vehicle.

Tuju was at the time seated at the back as he was heading to Kabarak for the burial of Daniel Moi.

Dr. Ken Mumo confirmed to have received a total of 18 patients most of them had sustained minor injuries.

The driver of the matatu is currently under life support while the driver and bodyguard of Raphael had suffered fractured hand and foot respectively.
