Police attached to the Special Service Unit (SSU) have arrested two clerks have on Thursday arrested two clerks for stealing from the Ministry of Land and Planning.
The two namely Humphrey Wairori Wanyonyi and Pius Mutune Wambua had been contracted by the Ministry to digitize the records before they made away with computers and other computer accessories.
“Detectives attached to the Special Services Unit (SSU) have today arrested two clerks and recovered computers and an assortment of computer components stolen from the Ministry of Lands and Physical Planning headquarters in Nairobi.

Humphrey Wairori Wanyonyi and Pius Mutune Wambua had been contracted to digitise records at the National Lands Commission (NLC).” said DCI
All the stolen goods were recovered at the house of Wanyonyi and they included ten hard drives, three motherboards, six CPU, three DVD drives among others.
At the moment the suspects have been remanded after they were taken to court on miscelenous application.
“The two led officers to Wanyonyi’s house where six CPU, ten hard drives, three DVD drives, three motherboards, three power supplies, nine new sticky notes, 12 used sticky notes, four used masking tapes and one HP laptop with its charger were recovered.
The items were stolen on November 24 and a report filed at Kilimani Police Station. The suspects were taken to court on a miscellaneous application for police custodial orders and they have been remanded for three days to appear in court on November 30.” said DCI
