Two people have died while 11 others sustained serious injuries after a bus they were travelling with collided with a lorry at Lukenya area in Athi River on the Nairobi-Mombasa highway.
The bus which involved a Mash Poa bus is said to have collided with a lorry that was overtaking at around 1:30 am on Sunday.
According to the police, the lorry of registration number KCG 048y was being driven from Mombasa heading to Nairobi when it overtook a fleet of vehicles before colliding with the bus of registration number KCJ 399A which was traveling to Mombasa.
The bodies of the deceased were taken to Shalom Community Hospital mortuary while the injured were rushed to Machakos Level Five Hospital.
The injured are said to have sustained minor injuries during the accident.
The two vehicles were towed to Athi River Police Station.
