Two feared dead in a grisly accident at Gilgil, Nakuru County

A husband and wife are feared dead when the car they were in was involved in a grisly accident along the Naivasha-Nakuru highway near Gilgil.

The two are reported to have been in the company of their two children who survived the accident sustaining serious injuries.

According to the police, the vehicle was overtaking a lorry when it collided head on with a matatu killing the couple on the spot.

A lorry traveling on the same road is reported to have also hit the car from behind thus causing the accident.

Atleast six other people who were in the matatu are reported to have sustained injuries as a result but they were minor.

The injured passengers and the two children aged four and two were all taking in for treatment at Gilgil sub-county hospital.

On Sunday night three people are reported dead along the Kisumu-Nairobi highway when a lorry hit a personal car.

Among the dead was a 10-year-old who died on spot as others sustained injuries and were rushed to Jaramogi Teaching and Referral hospital for treatment.

Police launched manhunt of the driver who is reported to have fled the scene immediately the incident happened.
