Two ladies arrested for child trafficking

Two ladies were on Thursday arrested by detectives from the Directorate of criminal investigation for the offence of child trafficking.

The two included the director of Good Samaritan Children’s home in Mathare and together with the other lady they unlawfully offered a child for fostering.

The child aged 5 months was found in Lucky Summer Estate in Nairobi before being rescued.

“A boy aged five months was today rescued by Detectives in Lucky Summer Estate and two ladies arrested; one of them being the director of Good Samaritan Children’s home in Mathare, who had unlawfully offered the child for fostering for the purpose of Trafficking.” Said the DCI.

The two are set to be arraigned in court on Friday.

“The child is currently in safe custody & the suspects will be arraigned in court tomorrow.” Said DCI in a statement on social media.

HP laptops

On Wednesday detectives from the DCI recovered 254 HP laptops within Embakasi area of Nairobi.

The laptops are part of the 795 laptops obtained falsely from a business man within Nairobi.

Three suspects were arrested during the sweep are currently being held in custody.
