Two suspects of robbery with violence were on Wednesday gunned down in Kirinyaga County by detectives from the Special Unit.
The two suspects are said to be part of a gang that was planning a robbery that was tipped to the detectives who sprang into action.
“Two suspects of Robbery W/Violence were yesterday gunned down & an AK47 Rifle with 12 Live Rounds recovered at Njegas-Kirinyaga County.”

Detectives pursued the robbers who were in a Toyota Caldina and two motorcycles before catching up with them at the Njegas-Kerugoya Road.
Efforts to make them surrender failed as they resorted to shooting the police who in turn opened fire at them killing two.
“The suspects defied orders to surrender & instead opened fire using the AK rifle, where officers responded as such fatally injuring two of them.”
A search into the car revealed an AK-47 riffle, teargas canisters, and several motor-vehicle number plates.
A manhunt has also been commenced to arrest the other suspects of the gang.
