Two robbers gunned down along Njegas-Kerugoya road

Two suspects of robbery with violence were on Wednesday gunned down in Kirinyaga County by detectives from the Special Unit.

The two suspects are said to be part of a gang that was planning a robbery that was tipped to the detectives who sprang into action.

“Two suspects of Robbery W/Violence were yesterday gunned down & an AK47 Rifle with 12 Live Rounds recovered at Njegas-Kirinyaga County.”

Detectives pursued the robbers who were in a Toyota Caldina and two motorcycles before catching up with them at the Njegas-Kerugoya Road.

Efforts to make them surrender failed as they resorted to shooting the police who in turn opened fire at them killing two.
