Speaking from State House, President Uhuru direct Ksh 1 million to be withdrawn from the Universal Health kitty to recruit additional health workers to combat the virus.

Cabinet Secretaries will also have their meeting under the leadership of Dr. Fred Matiang’i take place after every two weeks and the topic of discussion will be about the virus.

It will be a relief for many Kenyans after the President declared a 100% tax exemption of people earning up to Ksh 24,000.

Other raft of changes include the release of Ksh 10 billion to be distributed to the elderly and orphans in the country.

Public servants of the age of 50 years and above and with medical complications have been advised to stay at home during this period.

The President pointed out how some of the changes are meant to cushion Kenyans who are living in fear of losing their jobs.
