President Uhuru Kenyatta has paid in full pending hospital bill of veteran radio host Leonard Mambo Mbotela.
The President is reported to have paid Ksh 1 million of the pending Ksh 1.1 million in cash after the veteran had been admitted at the Nairobi South Hospital.
Yesterday, the family of Leonard Mambo Mbotela requested for financial assistance after the hospital bill had accumulated to Ksh 1.1 million.
The remaining balance was settled by well-wishers as the veteran was discharged to continue with treatment from home.
Back in 1982, the veteran radio host noted that the Military had managed to overturn the then President Moi’s regime when he worked for KBC.
The coup was unsuccessful leading to the arrest and alleged torture of top government officials during the famous Nyayo chambers.
