A student from Rongo University who was abducted together with Nation Journalist Barack Oduor has been found dead in a forest in Homa Bay.
Sharon Otieno was seven months pregnant by the time she was abducted was found with stab wounds on Tuesday. Sharon was a second year student pursuing Medical records and information at Rongo University.
Confirming the incident was Nyanza Region DCI boss Michael Baraza who said the body of the deceased was found in a forest with stab wounds.
Sharon and Oduor were kidnapped on Monday after a planned meeting with Governor Obado’s personal assistant Michael Oyamo at Graca Hotel in Rongo.
Journalist Barack Oduor was lucky to escape after jumping from the speeding vehicle sustaining serious injuries.
Oduor left Sharon in the vehicle with the kidnappers.
The two are said to have been meeting Mr. Oyamoto discuss a case about a case and how one politician got her pregnant and later refused to take responsibility of the baby.
Mr. Oyamp was arrested on Tuesday and taken to Homa Bay for questioning.
According to Nyanza DCI boss Michael Baraza, Mr. Oyamo is a prime suspect in the death of Sharon.
Sharon’s parents are said to have already identified their daughter’s body. The body of the late Sharon has been preserved at Oyugi’s Level Five Hospital in Oyugis town.
Governor Obado through his spokesman has denied claims linking him to the death of Sharon Otieno.
