Veteran journalist and lecturer Joe Kadhi is dead

The media fraternity is mourning the death of Joe Kadhi who passed away on Thursday at a hospital in Nairobi.

The former managing editor of Daily Nation will be laid to rest later today in line with the Muslim faith as confirmed by his family.

Kadhi has an exemplary career that included being a lecturer at the University of Nairobi before moving to Addis Ababa in Ethiopia before settling at the United States International University (USIU) for a period of 20 years.

Fellow journalist and politicians have mourned the veteran journalist as they quoted his favourite saying that has forever inspired the upcoming generation for years to come.

“Joe Kadhi was a truly gifted, dedicated and enthusiastic journalist who leaves behind an extraordinary body of work. Our thoughts and prayers to the family and the media fraternity. Rest In Peace.” Said DP William Ruto

“Sad to learn of the passing on of Joe Kadhi, a respected member of my Profession. He mentored many and inspired most of us with his knowledge and skills. May his soul RIP.” Said Phillip Etale
