Deputy President William Ruto’s Sunday rally at Jacaranda grounds witnessed running battles as police dispersed angry youths.
In a video circulating on social media, the police could be seen lobbying teargas in the air to disperse the angry youth who intended to disrupt the rally.
The youth chanted and demanded to be addressed by Embakasi Member of Parliament Babu Owino and also called out the name of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.

Calm was restored as DP William Ruto blamed former Prime Minister Raila Odinga for organizing the chaos. He continued by assuring the ODM Party leader that he will not be intimidated by the events of the day.
“”Shame on you Mr. kitendawili for hiring youths to come and stone people here. You won’t intimidate us with violence,” Said Ruto
Accompanying the Deputy President was former LSK President Nelson Havi and Senator Millicent Omanga who both condemned the chaos.
“To the marchants of violence who want to sell fear to us we will not buy it.” Said Omanga.
