A viral video doing rounds on the internet has exposed the level of insecurity in Mombasa.
In the video, a woman is seen walking and minding her business in Kibokoni, Mombasa when a motorbike approaches.
The biker tries to snatch her phone which she was using at the time but luckily she stretches her arm to safety.

Another motorbike rider approaches the woman from behind and starts communicating with her.
From the conversation, the woman is threatened to hand over her phone or pull out a gun which is not visible from the CCTV camera’s view.
In fear, she hands over the phone to the first rider as a little girl watches in shock and not sure what to do.
It is disturbing to note that such crimes take place during the day in a city that has severally been on the police radar over insecurity.
Patrols have been commissioned and detectives ordered to arrest criminal gang members to stop the deadly attacks in notorious places like Kisauni, Bamburi.
Several have been arrested as the government promises to do all it can to end the terror gangs at the coast.
