Waiguru slams the gov’t over alleged arrest of UDA members

Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru has slammed the government over what she termed as arbitrary arrest of United Democratic Alliance(UDA) people.

According to the Governor, the government is forcing UDA people to join Azimio La Umoja coalition as she demanded the release of Kirinyaga County Assembly Majority leader Kamau Murango and Gichangi Bosco.

“Strongly condemn arbitrary arrests of UDA Kenya people by State to force them support Azimio. We demand release of Kirinyaga ML & incoming Sen Kamau Murango UDA official Gichangi Bosco &all UDA supporters. No intimidations, not even Martha’s entry can change the fact.” Said Waiguru

The news comes a day after Azimio La Umoja flag bearer Hon. Raila Odinga unveiled Martha Karua as his running mate choice ahead of the coming elections.

Karua who has challenged the leadership of Waiguru, has been battling the incumbent Governor for the seat and even questioned her victory in the court unsuccessfully.

UDA party leader and Presidential candidate DP William Ruto has also alleged threats and intimidation from the government, something that he said he will never bow to and neither will his people.

The Deputy President has accused his competitors of derailing the development agenda of the government and having ill intention towards the future of the country as he referred to the President’s Big Four Agenda.
