The Senate has on Friday acquitted Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru charges including abuse of office citing insufficient evidence.
According to the 11-member Senate team led by Kakamega Senator Cleophus Malala, they found no substantial evidence against her.
They also found the evidence presented to them by the County Representatives did not in any way link the Governor to the charges leveled.

The Senate further noted that the House has the final say on the matter and it will stand as per the constitution.
Anne Waiguru was on June 6th impeached by County MCA citing a number of irregularities including gross misconduct, abuse of office and misappropriation of funds among others.
In a dramatic way, the MCAs defied an order obtained by Governro Waiguru to stop the exercise and instead passed the motion as it was.
She promised to take legal action against those who defied the orders saying the motion was illegal and ill informed.
