Deputy President William Ruto has lost his pilot Captain Mario Magonga in a helicopter crash in Turkana County on Monday.
At the time of the accident, Captain Mario was in the company of four Americans who died along William Ruto’s pilot.
Security officers dispatched to the scene confirmed that five people died from the crash with the four being four Americans and the Kenyan pilot.
The helicopter was in the in the company of two others that landed at Lobolo camp with one managing to clear successfully.
The cause of the accident is yet to be established and the details of the four Americans will be released once their next of kin’s are informed.
How did the crash happen?
Even though details of the chopper crash have not been established, Lobolo camping is a hilly place likely to be the cause of the accident.
William Ruto’s pilot who worked with tropic Air moved to KIDL Helicoper from the year 2017. He is said to have been a highly skilled pilot and trained under the Kenya Defense Force (KDF).

With his level of training Mr. Magonga was cleared to fly high profile individuals.
