Joao Moutinho netted the only goal of the match to give Wolves a win and sink Manchester United at home for the first since 1980.

The results ended Ralf Rangnick’s unbeaten run in the Premier League since joining the Red Devils on interim basis.

The host missed a number of chances including that of Bruno Fernandes that was blocked by Wolves goalkeeper Jose Sa before hitting the crossbar.

Wolves had taken the better portion of the possession earlier in the first half but it was Moutinho’s strike that made the difference as it went past a parked Manchester United defense.

The host fans celebrated at the end of regular time as Ralf recorded his first loss as the Red Devils stalled in seventh position with 31 points from 19 matches.

Manchester United shaky performance

Monday’s results proved how shaky Manchester United still is despite having a change of management from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Despite having a number of quality players, Cristiano Ronaldo was muted throughout the clash as Phil Jones came in to replace injured Harry Maguire.
