Yumbis Border Patrol Unit camp attacked by Al Shabab militants

Yumbis BorderPatrol Unit Camp within Fafi sub-county Garissa County was attacked on Fridaynight by suspected Al Shabab militants.

Kenyanofficers engaged the militants with a quick reinforcement from the specialforces forcing the attackers to repulse.

None of the Kenyan police was injured during the attack at Yumbis Border Patrol Unit Camp but the attackers suffered three fatalities.

A combined team of security agencies are on the ground pursuing the militants as they remain on high alert to suppress and counter Al Shabab ‘s heightened activities around the Somali border.
