The family of the late social media influencer Albert Ojwang has denied receiving Ksh 10 million from comedian Eric Omondi’s donation kitty.
Speaking during a requiem mass of the late Albert Ojwang, the family through their lawyer Julius Juma confirmed that the public had been misinformed on the donations received.
According to Juma, the family had received a total of Ksh 5,060,000 which include donations from the President, former Prime Minister Raila Odinga and the general public.

“It has been said or shared on various media channels that Mzee received Ksh10 million. I have been asked to set the record straight, and I am doing so on the pulpit.
The family wishes to confirm that they received Ksh2 million from the Head of State, Ksh1 million from Honourable Raila Odinga and Ksh2 million from Kenyans who gave in the form of Ksh1, Ksh10, and Ksh100 shillings,” he said.
The news follows news shared by the comedian who estimated the donations channeled to the family stood at Ksh 10 million.
I have not included whatever is currently in the bank. We had reached Ksh2.6 million by last week. One thing is that people are still sending money. That Ksh2.6 million was raised on the day I posted about Albert’s father, so it means the amount accumulated within the following 24 hours. We are roughly at around Ksh10 million,” said Eric Omondi
