Former Citizen TV present Kimani Mbugua has passed away following a long battle with mental health illness.
According to sources, the former Presenter died on Tuesday, October 14th in Mombasa even though the cause of his death remains unknown.
During his treatment in Mathare Hospital in Nairobi and the Mombasa Women Empowerment Mental Rescue Centre, prominent figures like former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko stepped in to support the course.

Taking on social media, the former Governor said that it is suspected that he had taken his own life, something that is under police probe.
“I am saddened to hear about the premature demise of former Citizen TV and NTV journalist Kimani Mbugua at the Mombasa Women Empowerment Mental Rescue Centre.
It is believed that he may have taken his own life. I will issue a comprehensive statement once the police report is out.
In the meantime I extend my heartfelt condolences to Kimani’s family, friends and relatives. I pray that God provides them with strength and comfort during this challenging time.
