Garissa Governor Nathif Jama Adan has been grilled by Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) over alleged mismanagement of Ksh 1.2 billion.
Nathif was summoned by the commission following an ongoing investigation into allegations of irregular recruitment and embezzlement of public funds between October 2022 and June 2024.

“The Commission is investigating allegations of embezzlement of public funds and irregular recruitment of employees by Garissa County Government from October 2022 to June 2024.
To facilitate the investigation, kindly avail yourself for an interview and statement recording at our Nairobi Integrity Centre offices located at Jakaya Kikwete/Valley road junction on August 25, 2025, at 10.00 AM,” said EACC
The Governor is under investigation for awarding contracts worth 265 million to Takaful Insurance of Africa Ltd and Tina Gardens Hotel, companies that are associated with him.
EACC also leveled allegations of making payments of up to Ksh 700 million to ghost workers.
Other allegations include the issuance of Ksh 188 million tender to Jubalink Logistics and Transport Company in the construction of a pavilion and masonry perimeter fence at Garissa Primary School.
