FIDA has called on former nominator Senator Gloria Orwoba to be treated with the dignity and respect that every woman deserves.
Taking on X, the organization confirmed that they are following up Wednesday events and that the rule of law must be followed.
“We have noted the unfortunate developments involving Gloria Orwoba & are monitoring the situation. She must be treated with dignity & respect due to every woman, & her rights must be upheld without violation. The rule of law must be fully observed in this matter,” read the statement.

The news follows Wednesday’s drama that ensured outside the Senate after the former nominated Senator was denied entry despite obtaining a court order that reinstated her to the position.
Efforts by Orwoba to use his car to block the entry of the Senate raised more problems as his vehicle was tied and ready to be towed away. Effort by Senator Boniface Khalwale to intervene failed as she was whisked away.
According to the former Senator, her replacement Consolata Wakwabubi, was holding the position illegally.
“As long as the lady called Consolata Wakwabubi is sitting in the Senate even now, that sitting is illegal. That is a stranger in the flow of the house. No impeachment is going on with a stranger in the flow of the house,” she said
