Trans-Nzoia Governor George Natembeya narrowly escaped following an attack by goons in Chwele-Kabuchai Ward, Bungoma County.
The Saturday incident occurred when the Governor was campaigning for Erick Wekesa when he was forced to cut his speech short, get into his car for safety purposes.

Images from the scene revealed the extent of the damage caused by the attack, including shattered windows, dented body caused by the bullets.
DAP Kenya has since condemned the incident and accused the National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula of paying off the goons.
“Political violence should not be entertained. Governor George Natembeya and a host of leaders while campaigning for MCA aspirant Eric Wekesa were today attacked in Kabuchai by goons associated with the worst Speaker Wetang’ula,” said DAP Kenya
