Siaya Governor James Orengo has made his first public appearance, ending weeks of speculation about his health.
Orengo appeared during the burial of former Karachuonyo MP Phoebe Asiyo, three hours after President William Ruto and Raila Odinga had arrived, much to the delight of those in attendance.

His presence ended speculation that he was either in the U.S or India receiving treatment for an undisclosed illness.
Speaking before those in attendance, Orengo rubbished the allegations, saying that he was strong and healthy.
He continued by praising the late MP, saying that she was ahead of her time by pushing for women in leadership positions.
The news comes at a time when his deputy, William Oduol said that he was not sure where his boss was and that he had not received any communication from his family.
He continued by saying that Orengo’s absence was a big blow to the county as it gave room for the corrupt to get away unnoticed.
