The government has suspended an organization from supplying food to schools in Ganze area, Kilifi County following a viral clip showing the students compelled to recite the prayer before receiving the food.
An investigation into the incident is underway as confirmed by the Kilifi County Commissioner.
The video caused a public outrage after it was shared on social media, with many demanding immediate action.

From the video, the students from over 17 schools could be seen reciting a Hindu prayer before receiving the food.
In a separate videos, school heads could be heard directing the students to recite the prayer before they were served.
“Tumesimamisha hiyo Krishna Children’s Foundation from supplying food to our schools because tuliona sio nzuri. Kama unataka kusaidia, saidia kwa njia mzuri…sio kulazimisha wanafunzi wafanye mambo ambayo sio nzuri vile mumeona kwa hizo video clips,” said Kilifi County Commissioner Josephat Kibiwott
Kibiwott continued by revealing that the organization identified as Krishna Foundation has been operating without proper documentation to education officials.
