Kajiado West MP George Sunkuyia has been arrested by Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) detectives over alleged forgery of academic certificates.
The MP is accused of forging his Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) certificate to C+ before using the same certificate to enroll to Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) and Mount Kenya University.

According to the EACC detectives, the MP used the alleged forged certificate to obtain a Diploma from Mount Kenya University, qualifications which he also presented to the detectives back in 2012.
“On unknown dates and at an unknown place within the Republic of Kenya, (Sunkuyia) forged a Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education, serial no. 2988066, with a mean grade of C+, purporting it to be a genuine certificate issued to you by the Kenya National Examinations Council, a fact you knew was false.
On the February 28, 2017 at the EACC, Nairobi, within Nairobi County in the Republic of Kenya, being a state officer, to wit a Member of County Assembly, knowingly provided false information to the EACC to wit a self-declaration form dated February 27, 2017 in which you indicated that you held a diploma in County Governance from Mount Kenya University, a fact you knew to be false.” said EACC
