Deputy Presidet Kithure Kindiki has hit out at his predeccessor Riagathi Gachagua with a clear message that Kenya will never return to political violence.
Through a statement, Kindiki noted that the country has learnt from the 2007/2008 post election violence that rocked country.
“Kenya will never return to political violence. Not in 2027, not at any other time in future. Our country learnt hard and painful lessons from the 2007/2008 post election violence.
Never again. Henceforth, Kenya’s leadership contests will revolve around who has better ideas to transform the country.
The debate cannot be about the fear mongering of desperate, vengeful, thoughtless and pretentious leaders.” he said
The statement by Kindiki was in response to Gachagua’s earlier statement that he warned that the 2027 elections will not be same as what happened in 2007 if the current regime decides to rig the elections.
