Nairobi, September 30, 2025 – Kenya’s creative community took centre stage today at a vibrant Creative Summit hosted by Johnnie Walker at East African Breweries Plc headquarters. The gathering celebrated the country’s rich pool of talent while reinforcing its role in shaping Africa’s cultural and creative economy.
The summit brought together leading voices in music, fashion, art, and content creation, underscoring Johnnie Walker’s role as an Afrocentric collaborator committed to creating spaces for bold conversations and meaningful collaboration on how Kenya and the continent at large, can expand its creative footprint globally.
Two thought-provoking panel discussions formed the heart of the event. “Walking with Culture: When Music Unites a Continent” explored how music continues to act as a bridge across borders, enabling cultural exchange and elevating African creativity on the world stage. The second panel, “Strides in Progress: Content Meets Culture,” examined how fashion, art, and digital storytelling are fueling cultural relevance and opening new opportunities for African creators to thrive.
Adding to the day’s energy was the presence of Nyashinski, Johnnie Walker’s Brand Ambassador, who shared insights into his journey as one of Kenya’s most influential artists and offered his perspective on creative experimentation.
The summit also served as a launchpad for AfroExchange, scheduled for November. This pioneering platform is designed to unite African talents across borders, encouraging collaboration, experimentation, and co-creation in line with Johnnie Walker’s iconic Keep Walking philosophy. AfroExchange will provide an extensive showcase of creativity, highlighting the continent’s growing impact on the global cultural landscape.
During his keynote at the Creative Summit, Alvin Mbugua, General Manager, Spirits, EABL, expressed his enthusiasm, stating: “This summit has been an incredible opportunity to celebrate Kenya’s immense talent and creativity. It follows a similar successful edition held in Johannesburg, South Africa, in June this year.
