“Honorable Senators have tonight voted to reject a motion for impeachment of Hon Dr Erick Mutai, Governor of Kericho County. Mutai had been accused by the MCAs of a number of issues including gross misconduct and abuse office before a vote was done at the county assembly. 33 MCAs voted in support of it.
At Senate, the electronic voting process was quized by some Senators who were of the opion that some of the MCAs logged in the system away from Kericho.
Speaker Amason Kingi confirmed that the threshold was met setting the stage for the Senators to debate on the charges levelled against the Governor.
