The now-famous Coptic Roundabout in Kisumu has been destroyed by unknown individuals, given the recent cases of road accidents reported in the area.
The Saturday morning incident has been viewed as an attempt to remove the roundabout, as well as to render the road free of the dual carriageway.

At the same time, leaders in the region have called on the Kenya National Highway Authority (KeNHA) experts to redesign the area.
The recent road accident reported at the scene was the demise of 26 people who were returning from a funeral in Nyahera before the bus they were in rolled over.
KeNHA has so far confirmed that the Saturday demolition of the roundabout was not their work and that it was not sanctioned by their office.
