Prof. Makau Mutua has hit back at his critics following his appointment as special advisor of Constitutional Affairs in the Executive Office of the President.
Through a statement, the lawyer noted how spent the better part of his education in the United States and that there is no better way of serving the country than through his current appointment.

He expressed optimism that his expertise will be of good service to the President and the country at large.
“WHY are some folks vexed — anguished — about my decision to accept the appointment by H.E President William Ruto as Senior Advisor on Constitutional Affairs. I’ve spent my entire life in the law at the highest levels, especially in the United States.
I can’t think of a better way to serve my native Kenya. I am sure some of those upset would readily accept the appointment. Chill, folks, and let those who are qualified, serve the country. I believe my expertise will be of good service to the President and the country.” he said
