Mumias East Member of Parliament (MP) remains detained at Central Police station, a day after he was arrested by the police.
Confirming the news was the MP’s personal assistant who also revealed that the they cannot secure his bail citing they police have received orders from above.

“Hon. Peter Salasya remains detained at Central Police Station. His lawyers’ efforts to secure cash bail have been unsuccessful, with police citing “orders from above” to keep him in custody.” said Salasya’s P.A
On Friday, the P.A also confirmed that the MP was limping and they had been denied the right to take him for treatment.
“He is limping and he doesn’t look okay. We’ve seen him but were denied permission to take him to a hospital. We urgently call for transparency and his right to medical care.” read the statement.
Salasya is reported to have been arrested over his utterances that could cause unrest and violence in the country. This follows his current presidential campaigns he had kicked off.
