Mudavadi confirms release of all Kenyans detained in Tanzania

Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, Musalia Mudavadi has confirmed the release of all Kenyans detained in Tanzania.

Mudavadi revealed the news from Kakamega County where he revealed that the Kenyans were those detained following the controversial elections in Tanzania.

He continued by saying that they will be repatriated to the country by the Kenyan High Commission in Tanzania.

According to the Prime Cabinet Secretary, President William Ruto played a crucial role in the release of activists Bob Njagi and Nicholas Oyoo, who had been detained in Uganda.

President William Ruto held talks with his Ugandan counterpart to secure their release, but he also wrote a letter to the Ugandan government requesting their release.

Mudavadi also acknowledged the assistance of former President Uhuru Kenyatta to secure their release, as he thanked his involvement in helping the government.

Kenyans have since been urged to respect the laws of other countries to avoid such incidents from recurring in the future.
